I'm Old Lu, and here is why I built this site.
1. I already have a lot of tea writing
Since I formed my own understanding of tea in 2015, I have kept writing about it, and today there are quite a few articles. Yet when it comes to teaching people about tea, none of my writing forms a systematic course.
2. Too much repeated explanation
Over the past decade or so I have released many tea products. Promoting them meant repeating the same fragments of knowledge again and again - a huge amount of duplicated work, where every newcomer had to be told everything from scratch. People need one place where they can start at zero and learn a complete path.
3. A website is a good platform
My view of tea is not easy to understand at first, and the idea of "healthy tea drinking" deserves to reach many people. A website is exactly the platform to do that.
4. Treat the website as a published book
For years people have encouraged me to write a book, but I always felt "I am still a small student - why burden my readers". It wasn't time yet. I have written plenty of words, yet without an overall structure there is nothing to publish as a book. This website is my chance to organize my understanding of tea into a relatively complete whole - consider it my book.
5. The original intention and outlook
This is why I made this site. XueCha.org will never repost content from elsewhere - everything here is my original writing. I also hope this platform can recruit volunteers to help organize my videos and articles into easy-to-understand materials (articles, PPT, or other forms) that can be shared on this website and across the internet.
